The Ridge Reading plan

The Ridge Daily Reading Plan

A 12-Month Journey Through the Story of Scripture (Chronological)

Welcome
Welcome to The Ridge Daily Reading Plan. Over the next twelve months, you will walk through the big
story of the Bible in roughly chronological order. You will see creation, the fall, God’s covenant
promises, the rise and fall of kings, the voices of the prophets, the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus,
and the birth of the early church.
How This Plan Works
This plan is designed to take about five minutes a day. Most days are focused on a single chapter or a
short passage. The readings move in chronological order as much as possible so you can follow the
flow of God’s story from beginning to end. Use whatever Bible translation helps you understand and
apply God’s Word most clearly.
Each day includes three simple prompts:
1. Read – Slowly read the passage for the day.
2. Reflect – Ask what the passage reveals about God, people, and God’s rescue story.
3. Live It – Decide on one specific way you will respond in obedience or trust.
Using the Reflect and Live It Prompts
You can use a journal, your phone notes, or a notebook to write a short response each day. You do not
need to write a lot. A sentence or two is enough:
• Reflect: “Today I see that God is...” or “This shows me that people tend to...” or “This reminds me that
Jesus...”
• Live It: “Today I will trust God by...” or “I will obey by...” or “I will encourage someone by...”
Ideas for Groups and Life Groups
This plan works well for individuals, but it is also great for groups. You can use it in life groups, classes,
or discipleship huddles by simply asking three questions each week: What did you read? What grabbed
your heart? How did you live it out?
When You Fall Behind
If you miss a day or even a week, do not quit. Just start again with today’s date. The goal is not to
check every box, but to build a habit of meeting with God in His Word.

Our Prayer for You
Our prayer is that as you walk through Scripture with The Ridge this year, you will know God more
deeply, see Jesus more clearly, and be transformed by the Holy Spirit in everyday life.
